The Farm at Lullwater was the perfect backdrop to Lucas and Jayme’s beautiful December Alabama wedding day! I first met this sweet couple in January and immediately knew I was going to love them. They are the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, and I just love Jayme’s dry humor! Not to mention their precious little blonde baby girl.
One of my favorite moments from the day happened while the girls were getting ready. Jayme asked Allie Grace, “who is getting married today?” When Allie Grace said mommy and daddy were, Jayme reminded her “and you!” Saturday truly was the perfect celebration of this sweet family!
The day started off with the girls getting ready in the house at Lullwater. One great thing about this venue is the availability of spaces for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready. Having those rooms simplifies the day with less travel! While the girls were finishing up hair and makeup, I worked on photographing all of their details. A beautiful personal touch that Jayme included in their day was a tribute to her late grandmother. She had a set of earrings and a tie pin (a gift to her dad) made from the flowers used at her grandmother’s funeral.
Jayme helped Allie Grace into her dress and then Jayme’s mom helped her into her wedding gown. After some perfume and finishing touches, Jayme shared a first look with her dad. Then Lucas and Jayme shared a first look, followed by an impromptu first look with Allie Grace! There wasn’t a dry eye! Lucas is a teddy bear, so we all knew he would cry. Jayme will tell you that she didn’t cry until AG came out, but I’ll let you check the evidence. (Although to be fair…her first tears might have been tears from laughter, haha)! Honestly I lost count of how many times I teared up on Saturday!
Bridal party photos and a few family photos followed the first looks. Then we took a moment to get a few bride and groom portraits before the ceremony.
After the flower girls tossed their petals, Jayme’s dad led her down the aisle to her groom. Again, his reaction did not disappoint! The ceremony was officiated by a longtime friend and pastor from Jayme’s childhood, and they exchanged their vows in front of a beautiful wooden structure that Lucas built. The lighting during the ceremony was some of the best ceremony light I’ve had all year. As the sun set over the gorgeous, mature trees and pond at Lullwater, Jayme and Lucas shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
We finished up some family photos before heading to the reception!
The Farm at Lullwater features a large barn, which is the perfect place to celebrate, dance, and eat a little cake! After the bride and groom danced, Jayme shared a father-daughter dance with her dad. Halfway through the song, Lucas joined the floor with Allie Grace in his arms. Thinking about how the next father-daughter dance they share will be at HER wedding, it was my turn to cry! Then Lucas danced with his mom before everyone joined the dance floor.
Of course the DJ included a great mix of music for all of the guests, ranging from the typical dance music to some Sesame Street tunes for Allie Grace! After the cake cutting and bubble exit, Jayme and the girls changed back into their matching pjs to finish up the night having fun in some comfy clothes! Fun and family were definitely the key themes of this Alabama wedding day, from start to finish!
