Tanner and Autumn were surrounded by family and friends on this gorgeous September wedding day in Central Alabama! The forecast called for rain, but we prayed and God answered! We had no trouble at all venturing outside for portraits, the ceremony was everything you could ask for, and the sun even came out just a bit for their “just married” portraits. Autumn is quite possibly the most organized and talented bride I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She made their cake, yall! And it was delicious and beautiful! The Elms of Coosada is one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Central Alabama, and I cannot recommend Lisa and her team enough!
Autumn’s plan for the day was full of bright, bold colors and beautiful florals. Every detail of her day was curated with that in mind, down to the adorable floral pjs they all wore during hair and make-up. The way she incorporated so many gorgeous colors seamlessly throughout the day had her guests feeling like they were walking through a sunny flower garden, even on such a gray day.
After Autumn’s mom helped her slip into her (stunning!!) dress, Autumn shared a first look with her bridesmaids and then with her dad and brothers. Autumn and Tanner wanted to save his first look for when she came down the aisle. Instead, they opted to share a “first touch” and prayed together. Then Autumn went up to the balcony while Tanner went outside to create a portrait of the two of them without seeing each other. I love this image because it shows off the beauty of The Elms so perfectly! You’ll see why this wedding venue in Coosada, Alabama is one of my favorites!
After their first looks, we moved into portraits before the ceremony. Just wait until you see the florals!
The ceremony location at The Elms is always beautiful in the evening. The light from the receding sun filters through trees dripping with Spanish moss (which is one of my favorite things about outdoor weddings in central Alabama!), and fairy lights cover the whole backyard. It is like a dream! After Autumn’s mom placed her veil, her dad walked her down the aisle to her precious waiting groom. Tanner and Autumn wanted to share a few minutes of worship together before exchanging their vows. It was such a sweet moment.
Following the ceremony, we finished up some portraits before the reception began!
Mr. and Mrs. Colquitt (eek!!) finished their day with lots of sweet moments, fun, and laughter at their reception. They shared dances with their parents, cut the cake (did I mention she made it?!), and danced to Church Clap and Party in the USA. They made their exit through a tunnel of sparklers! It was such an incredible, fun, colorful Coosada, Alabama wedding day that I am so honored to have been part of!
