Montgomery AL Wedding | The Allens

filed in

I cannot get over how absolutely perfect Cecilia and Taylor’s wedding day was! I have never been part of a more beautiful February wedding. The weather was unseasonably warm for this time of year, with just the right amount of sunshine — a dream come true for their wedding just outside of Montgomery, Alabama! From the relaxed atmosphere to the gorgeous florals, their day was filled with love, joy, and so many beautiful moments.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is seeing both families come together to celebrate their love for the couple. Cecilia’s family traveled all the way from California to be with her for her wedding day! Cecilia and Taylor have three children, so her mom got to give extra snuggles to her grandbabies while everyone was getting ready. Then her mom helped Cecilia into her dress before the first look with Dad. I know these moments will be sweet memories for all of them!

Before we started bridal party portraits, we had to have Cecilia’s bridal bouquet! I have been fortunate enough to work with Farmhouse Flowers and Events in the past, so when Nikki contacted me about photographing her son’s wedding, I was ecstatic! I just knew the florals for Cecilia and Taylor’s day were going to be gorgeous, and Nikki did not disappoint! From the bouquets to the table settings, everything was absolutely stunning, and designed with extra love.

Montgomery, AL Wedding Ceremony

After some bridal party and family portraits, it was time for the ceremony! Cecilia and Taylor wanted to share their first look at the altar, which is always so emotional. After their oldest son, Waylon, walked with daddy to the altar, it was time for Cecilia to make her entrance. She recorded a sweet message to play for Taylor before her dad walked her down the aisle. Taylor miiiiight have shed a tear or two. Their beautiful ceremony was officiated by Taylor’s dad with the sun starting to set behind them.

After finishing up some family portraits, Cecilia and Taylor had a few moments (almost) alone while we took bride and groom portraits. I always love “just married” portraits because the couple’s joy is just so evident!

The Reception

Have I mentioned how beautiful all of the florals and decor were? Whippoorwill Venue has an indoor reception space with a fireplace that Nikki created a gorgeous floral piece for. The vaulted ceilings were decorated beautifully with white drapery, and all of this created the perfect space for first dances. Cecilia danced with her new husband and with her dad. Then Taylor danced with both his mom and step-mom.

The reception was so much fun with dancing and a watercolor artist! This was such a fun surprise that their parents planned for the couple and their guests. Simplie Kimmie created beautiful keepsakes for the Allens’ family and friends to take home to remember the night! After the sun had set, Cecilia and Taylor ran through a shower of sparklers, surrounded by their family and friends. I think Waylon had more fun than anyone, though!
