I knew from the first email that I was going to love Julia and Jordan, and I wasn’t wrong! Julia has the absolute best laugh and sweetest smile, and it is so obvious how much Jordan adores her. From the beginning, she mentioned how important their faith is to them, and that was evident throughout their day. Their wedding took place in Auburn, Alabama on beautiful private property owned by family friends, and their reception was held at Kiesel Park, which is always a great location for portraits!
When Julia told me their ceremony was going to be at 10:30, I assumed she was an early bird. Apparently I was wrong about that, haha! When we met to plan their timeline (which took 15 minutes of an hour and a half coffee meeting, told you we clicked!), she mentioned that she’s not really a morning person and didn’t want to drag all of her girls out to get dressed at 5am. Being a night owl myself, I can definitely understand that! In talking through the timeline of their day, we discussed how she wanted to schedule plenty of time for the actual ceremony. In a typical schedule, the family photos are given as much time as the ceremony, but she knew she didn’t want to rush through the most important part of her day.
The weather in Alabama in November can be unpredictable. We prayed and prayed it wouldn’t rain on their wedding day because the ceremony and reception were both planned to be held outside. God answered with sunshine on full blast and a beautiful, warm November day! Throughout the day, prayer and gratitude were a common theme. The family gathered to pray over Julia and Jordan during the ceremony.
Their reception at Auburn’s Kiesel Park was full of laughter and also tears of joy and gratitude. The sweet moments continued as Julia and her dad shared their daddy-daughter dance, and her dad prayed privately with her and Jordan’s marriage and life together. Sometimes the hardest part of the day for me is making it through those sweet moments without having a come apart! Jordan’s dance with his mom was just as sweet and was especially hard to make it through since our oldest just turned ten, and he’s nearly as tall as me now!
We finished the day with some bride and groom portraits in the same garden at Kiesel where we took their engagement portraits, and had fun playing with her blusher veil to get some under-the-veil shots. Jordan is a master at “nuzzling in” and always willing to cuddle and kiss his bride!
Thank you so much to the Jensens and their families for letting me be part of their day, and to all of the vendors who made it so beautiful!
